9eek 9oddess' GRADUATION PICS!!!

Yes finally. Pics from my graduation! Funny how it wasn't exciting to me anymore. Since I started work about 2 months back, it seemed like life has moved on... in quiscence.

Me and my batchmates

Time has crept up on me, I thought I would miss school life... but perhaps sometimes there is too much to think of that I hardly miss it. Perhaps once and again when my mind begins to wander, I reminisce about the days I wake up in the afternoon, and wile the day away with not a care in the world.

Yes, I was once of those "pontang kias".... which proves that you don't have to necessarily attend classes to do well in school. A lot is personal effort. *but don't tell ur mother I said that, or take my word for it...*

These are of course a number of people I'd like to thank:

1) GOD - without whom nothing is possible.

2) My parents

Mummy & I

Daddy & I

3) My professors!

Especially Dr. Eddie Tong... my mostest favourite-est professor!!!!

Valerie and I showing our "psychological muscles"!

4) Ming

Who "influenced" me to study hard despite spending so much time with him.... but we actually how how much time I really had left for studying after all the time with him... He says he passed me his intelligence.... *rolls eyes*

Here, I'm between 2 Mings. Both my favourite Mings in the world. Mr. Ming Shen and Mr. Ming Wei. :) All of us go a looooooooong way back!

5) My Super Uber Duper class/batch mates!!

Shawn And I

Jeremy and I

Val, Lynn & I

Lynn and I

Val and I again...

Gabriel, Raymond, Me & Val

Esp to Raymond, who coloured my undergrad life... yes he was always so uber funny and being so freaking out of the box. Guess what, on graduation night, during the ceremony, he actually slapped high five to our dean. How cool is that. The rest of us were B-O-R-I-N-G....

With that said, there prolly are a thousand people I've missed, but it's just pretty uncanny to think that school life is over and done with and I've transited into the corporate world.

THE WORLD IS MY OYSTER!

Geek Goddess Show Episode 2 - My after thoughts

Yes! Episode 2 is here!!! check it out! This time, we want to let viewers know that we're listening and we've made minor tweaks to reflect more of what viewers want. The session is all about china based video, venture funds raising pertaining to these mega video sharing sites as well as we share insights on how to clone a facebook of your own! :)

And finally we read your emails!!!!!!!! :)

This episode was quite tough for me to film as my exams was a couple of days away. As you can see, I'm pretty stressed. Plus on the day of filming, well, it was Mother's Day!!! So we had to chop chop culli pok film so I could head to my granny's birthday cum mother's day celebration.

I'm glad exams are over.... and I'm officially a graduate!!! yay!!!! Means no more NUS! But then again... I'm filled with a tinge of sadness - no more 3 day weeks ;( and this marks a new chapter of my life....

Part of me is happy but part of me really never wants to grow up for some reason. There is this liberation with being a child forever, the freedom, the lack of responsibilities, the late night MSN chats and the sleeping in. Then again, I'm excited at the prospects of starting this new chapter. It's really bittersweet....

Any one of you guys just graduated as well? What are your thoughts?

UPDATES on POLICE outside NUS LT10

Previously, I blogged about the police and investigators outside NUS LT10, outside the male toilet. I was there just doing my work when suddenly, plain clothes men were walking around, pictures were being taken, and everyone was talking in a hush hush manner.

Didn't seem like much to me until I realised that something fishy was happening. My first thought... OMG, CSI man... some crime happened.

I asked the plain clothes men what it was, he brushed me off telling it was nothing much. Of course trying to allay my fears, but.... with the police around collecting evidence and disallowing anyone from entering the male toilet, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING RIGHT????

This is a pic I took:

Perhaps the policemen interviewing the cleaner auntie is clearer:

Anyways... I finally managed to flip the pics... my previous post was a bit screwed up because I didn't know if I was supposed to take photos... but I guess they did see me doing it, so should be OK?

Anyways, I was wondering what was wrong because when I asked this girl who apparently knew what happened, she told me it was inappropriate to tell me. Perhaps that was true cuz I was asking her right in front of the police officer. (yes I'm damn kaypoh can?)

So later on, when the police left and the "coast was clear", she told me that there was grafitti written on the wall of the toilet.

It being a male toilet, I couldn't enter....

But more to that, there was this...

But then how could that stop me? I know la, I'm not your typical CSI investigator... but I went in still... to check out what was written on the door of the toilet...

This is what I saw:

Number 1 toilet was okay, functional... and open but number 2 toilet was sealed up. I pushed the door but it wouldn't budge.

On closer investigation, the toilet had been locked from within....

Seeeeeee??????

So, no choice I went outside and the lady cleaner shoo-ed me away to tell me I wasn't allowed to enter -- she had work to do... she said she had to use some chemicals.

So I waited while she and her colleagues went in and I guess, cleaned all evidence off the wall of number 2 cubicle before they all left and took away the sign from outside the toilet.

Of course, being me, I went it.

The whole place was washed and scrubbed clean. And the number 2 toilet was open. I went in and took this picture of the inside of the door.

Can see still some remnant marks, but apparently it has been almost erased clean.

NOW... WHAT WAS WRITTEN ON IT????

Later on I found out that it was not the first time this had been done, in fact this had happened before... (I don't know how many times though)....

On the inside of the door was something (I don't know what exactly)..but it had to do with Mas Selamat. Someone (or with his/her accomplice) had written comments about Mas Selamat... not sure if they were good or bad.. but basically comments about Mas...

I was curious to find out exactly what they were, but no one around would tell me. None of the cleaners wanted to say anything...

Guess that's the ending to this encounter.

I was like super kancheong because initially I thought it was some like murder or what nots, then I thought it was arson... now we all know it's grafitti... of that sensitive nature.. which was why no one would let me in on anything...

I don't know how else I can dig info now. I guess case is closed, unless I meet this encounter again... but must be pretty harsh/sensitive statements to warren the police and investigators down huh?

What do you guys think?

*disclaimer: Do not quote me on anything in this blogspace. DO NOT. Do not take what I say as the truth. Perhaps I am just sleep-blogging. I do not welcome further questions regarding this issue to my email about this incident. I consider it case closed and will not blog more about this after this post unless completely neccessary.*

Something FISHY outside LT10, NUS. POLICE TAKING PICS.

Hey this is like super hot off *the blogger's press*.

Outside LT10, in the Arts fac (AS1), near the Deck.... ther are police crowding round the toilet. Well, maybe not police, but men in uniform. Like security guards of some sort. Supposedly, there are investigators-look-alikes taking pictures and such and they are using code words to speak.

I asked what's wrong, and no one seems to want to tell me what it is. The guy in plain clothes, told me "nothing much..."...

But I BET something is happening. I think could be possible case of vandalism, like burning some shit. Or something.

Anyone near by pls come check it out and let me know. It's in the MALE's toilet so I'm not allowed to enter. I hope they don't cordon off this area!!!!

I'll update when I find out.

Update: Managed to sneak a pic really quick!!! Don't have time to turn it ard...

Update2: Managed to sneak another pic

I asked a girl beside me about what it was, but she said inconvenient to tell me. I said, eh not murder rite. She said No...

Now I'm serious... what's happening???? Police, camera men... etc!!!

Update3: haha everyone still here, talking about the report, interviewing and taking statement of some old lady cleaner.... Off the records one of the police man is super hot.... haha...

Anyways, they talking about... damn i straining my ears but they talking softly....

Update4: I think it could be some sort of morbid vandalism, cuz I hear the word "graffitti"... but I could be wrong... anyway the toilet is going to be cleaned up and reopened, but might take some time.... The investigators are thanking each other now and the police men are leaving...

UPDATE5: I kinda know what's happening now, but will decide when it's safe to blog about it...

UPDATE6: OK, yeap I know what happened. MIGHT BE SENSITIVE TO BLOG ABOUT IT HERE. Email me if you are interested I guess.. I might post more pics when coast is clear...

UPDATE7: Ok I've left the area since everyone has cleared the scene and I've got class... Will talk more about this tonight.

**disclaimer: Don't anyone quote me out of context or anything ah... for all you know, I might be misinformed and don't know anything.. or even dreaming... I just blogging what I see, don't trust anything I say.... I don't want to get into any shit for this...

NUS Sexology1101 - NUS demonstrates condom wearing?!?

Who would have known that an NUS course actually demonstrates LIVE how to put on a condom?!?

Isn't that like.. sorta TABOO??? But anyway, yesterday during class, we has a hands on demonstration, and I tell you, the girls (pretended to) squeal so much, basically, that made me crack up like a bag of pop corns...

It was the Pediatric Psychology class we were in and there was a topic of presentation on HIV. Yeap, so the presentation group decided to teach us how to say NO to premarital sex (to prevent HIV) ... but I guess that brought yawns to many of the students so, being the new radicals they were, they probably thought that the best thing to so was to show them how to PREVENT STDs.

They seriously brought a zuccini and a condom and told us to learn how to put it on.. giving us step by step instructions....

My dear classmate was "daring" enough to try so I just kept snapping pics. Eh such rare oppotunities in NUS must document OK!!!!!!

Seriously.. I don't think another NUS course will allow this... hehehe

STEP 1: Rip the foil

STEP 2: HOLD the "zuccini"

STEP 3: PINCH THE TIP (of the condom, to create a vacuum)

STEP 4: ROLL DOWN (WHILE PINCHING TIP)

STEP 6: LET GO (smile and wave at your achievement)

STEP 7: TAAAADDDAAAA!!!

THERE! All in a day's work! Moral: Either abstain or use protection. HIV kills.

What NUS students think about MARRIAGE (scribbles on the toilet door)

This is not very good news!! Both for singles, married and the Singapore Government!!!

I was in the toilet and then this caught my attention. Birth rates are going down but look what NUS students are saying???

On the door of the cubicle was this sign....

"Ways to Escape An Abusive Spouse"
3. If He/She breaks the phone...
go to The Neighbour
This was some trailer for some upcoming Haresh Sharma drama production..

and then I see faint yellow words between the lines... it says...

"DO NOT GET MARRIED AT ALL!"

THEN I SCRUTINZE AND LOOK HARDER!!
There were pen scribbles beside the yellow words...

Seems like any campaign to snuff out singlehood and promote reproduction.... is falling on deaf's ears!!!!! How now brown cow??? Mooooooo...

NUS Exam HOT TIP + pics of MUGGERS -Xclusive-

I have learnt a whole ton from this semester's prep for exams. Here are some tips which will confirm guarantee chop allow u to do better... I'm confident sticking to them will increase your grade... For this week I've been blogging about exam tips and this will be my last exma related post.. I've had enough showering too much attention on stinky winky NUS.

Hot tip 1: Never reach too early for exams.

The chao muggers will always be lined and smished on the floor outsude the exam room, as if you get extra point for going early and if you don't "chope" your seats, you'll have to sit on the floor..

Confirm if you reach early, the chao muggers will be there and it sure will make you more nervous. You see them clutching their thick wads on notes (aka gold bars.. my precious) and flipping anxiously though it. I don't know if it's only me... but before exams I always have nothing in may hands other than my bag and pens... to me its no use trying to read things last minute cuz you'll never remember.

I coined the term FRENEMIES for these people. Well, you see, on normal days they are you best friends right, but come exams, you fight with them for the top scores and you prevent those muggers from skewing the normal distribution...

Damn these frenemies... don't you love to hate them? (of course after exams buddy buddy again la)

Hot Tip 2: Girls especially, ALWAYS freaking pee before exams can?

Wah, it's super uber irritating to have to wait 3 years to empty your bladder. I always get feel the need to pee before exams because it just the nerves that get to me. But before leaving the house I ALWAYS pee can?

Why you want to queue for the toilet 5 mins before exams? Not like the toilet auntie giving you free Hello Kitty rite? Not like you queuing for Great Singapore Sale or Mango 70% discount sales leh.. If so, I join the queue too and go the night before to "chope" place can?

but for toilet... I just think its not worth it... BAH!!

* Disclaimer: No offense to chao muggers reading this, I meant no harm, all said in jest...

Also, no lady's bladder was injured during this photoshoot...

It's NOT that I don't like STUDYING.. -study revelation-

Yes, this is my third -exam-related-studying post, where you get tips about studying and my revelation about exams... I have a paper later at 230PM but as you can see, I can't keep my hands off the PC or blogging.

I just tell myself that if I wasn't blogging, I'd be watching tv (which IS true...)

You see, the problem lies in the fact that...

It's not that I don't like studying, but It's just I wish I was studying something different...

...like say, SHOPPING1101 or MEN1101?

OK... back to the books...

Hell, yeah, it does.....

9irls: TOXIC when EMOTIONAL

Yes 9irls absolutely have the right to be emotional. Call them manipulative, vindictive, whatever. They just are and that's how evolution made them to be.

They seem to be able to on demand, burst out into tears, like a wet spring in the middle of a desert, cry heaps and yet never ever seem to run out of tears. They have every right to do that, since crying is cathartic - absolutely.

Exams are an irritating period. We mug, and telly and blogging seem all the more attractive... anything to distract us from our books. Yes, burn them!

The sky looses its colour, we see the world through grey coloured lenses... is it just me.. or does the exam do this to people?

I'm toxic when I tear, it's like hydrochloric gas. And my female God given ability to spontaneously burst out into tears over any and every thing, is my greatest (dis)ability now.

Call me crazy, but crying has never felt too good. And I'm claiming my right to boohoo now... Or maybe I'll try screaming into a pillow for a change... (my viet neighbour constantly knocks on my door to tell me to tone down my hifi... I guess these nights she might just visit more...)

Diary of an NUS 9eek 9oddess

I've come to learn that there are certain secrets to passing NUS exams. I have the right to say this because this is my freaking 5th year in school! I have learnt that there are a few must haves.. They aren't guarantees to pass exams, but they highly increase your chances of success.

Find out here!!!

1) COFFEE -- to help you keep those droopy eyelids open. Best if you down so much that your fingers start to jitter. Don't ever drink decaf - defeats the purpose.

2) Postits -- helps you take notes and remind you of small points you need to remember. Yu can try sneaking them into the exams hall but I wouldn't advice that. Not worth it.

3) Laptop -- you need to study from a laptop, so you can blog and bitch when ur bored. Yes laptops can be a distraction but all work and no play makes Jack a dull and freaking NERDY boy..

4) Scared shit look -- yes believe it or not, you need it. If you're not worrying about exams, you either are damn well prepared or you can't be bothered anymore. The former really just doesnt apply to the majority of us, so put on that SCARED SHIT LOOK and start mugging and burning the midnight oil while you can...

Incidentally I think the SCARED SHIT LOOK motivates you to study harder... makes u feed on adrenaline...

Oh well, but what do I know... *sigh*

Vanity Fair @ NUS Brings out the HORNS in GIRLS

Yes, of course girls can be demure little angels, prim and proper ladies when they want to, BUT not when NUS organizes the once a year VANITY FAIR. At the sound of the word "Vanity Fair", they, as if on cue, sprout horns, grow 3 extra hands and develop an uncanny ability to squeeze into nooks and crannies 3 times smaller than them. Even the meekest girls are able to bellow in loud voices that cause the ear bones of anyone to reverberate in pain. Suddenly it's as if our elbows were made for by evolution to be have no use but to nudge away contenders... (and by this I don't mean the opposite sex)

No and I'M NOT KIDDING. Basically, we were like sardines. Sardines packed in a can. Sardines packed in a can on a hot Thursday, squeezing to get our way among the throng of other sweaty, slippery sardines...

No, make that sardine-flavoured humans packed in a can of already overflowing saline-covered , oily sardines.

The NUS Vanity Fair is a huge sale in the central forum every year where they sell make up at relatively cheaper prices (NO they are still NOT cheap!), and like a sea of girls get up early, line up like fools just to get a glimpse of, yes LAST SEASON's colours. (The things we do to save money and look better!!!) Oh my God I thought they were going to be this season's!!! Got tricked! I blame this on the X chromosome, it is undoubtedly ingrained in our very pink DNA.

Girls suddenly grow horns, hold a trident in their hands, trying to fend off fellow "competitors". Cosmetics strewn all over the table, hands reaching out for scraps of sample pieces on the table, fingernails scratching each other's skin, huffing and puffing, almost in a possessed frenzy.

I caught myself for a second trying to squeeze into the crowd but suddenly it just seemed as if the world stopped spinning, I broke out in cold sweat and I was hit by a wave of revelation. "Man I really don't need this! I'm buying stuff for my mother, my sister, my friends! Ouch, someone is stepping on my toes with her stilettos! Get lost, girlfriend!!!!"
IS THIS ALL REALLY WORTH IT? Sheesh!

However, I managed to get a quite a few laughs, from watching people act the way they do. Most of my giggles were directed towards, not women, but the MEN, in other words the foolish (oops, did I say that out loud) boyfriends who help their girlfriends line up for hours just to throw their money in the diamond studded faces of the already too rich cosmetic giants. Ok, but then again the poor guys are so sweet to stand in line and wait, and wait and wait and... yes, wait. I don't know how they have the patience. The foolish things love makes you do....

Conversation 1
BF: How much you want me to withdraw?
GF: Just take some money out la..
BF: Ok $50 enough?
GF: Why don't you just take $250 out first, got extra then put back..
BF: ..........

Conversation 2
GF: You help me line up first to pay then when I'm done I go find you k?
BF: OK, don't take too long hor...

GF: Your next class is in 4 hours right?
BF: .............

Conversation 3

BF: Got anything for guys?
GF: Eh can help me take the blue eye shadow?
BF: Ok, can got anything for guys not?
GF: Dear, which colour is nicer ah?
BF: Purple nicer; got anything for guys here?
GF: OK I think I'm done, can pay already

Conversation 4

Guy 1: Eh what you doing here?
Guy 2: Lining up for girlfriend lor, you?
Guy 1: Same lor, you no lesson ah?
Guy 2: Got la, life's lesson lor. never to volunteer to queue up for girlfriend
Guy 1: Not worth it la, no modular credit one
(As a sidenote I do not think guys should pay for their gf's make up, why should they? I find it a tad bit insulting, to be honest)

Welcome to the world of Monster girls... I do agree (just for today), girls can be really unreasonable and jut plain animalistic *meow* when it comes to getting what they (think) they want...

Next year's vanity fair will probably look something like this, so I advice you to be prepared with body armor and deodorant..
